^^^ That's likely the problem right there. When you change the oil, it's best to add about 9 quarts, get the oil up to 180F or above, and then check the oil level, at idle, on level ground (should be around the midpoint between the two hash marks). A lot of oil remains in the system even when the tank and engine case are drained - you are probably now about 1.5 to 2 quarts overfilled and that is why the oil is heading out of the tank breather.
