Agree, many paint repairs in the old days were for very minor stuff, If not, it is usually pretty obvious of any major damage, by careful checking the underside for any difference between the other side of the car. Hey Charles, your car from what I know of it , a solid #2 or -1 if you read Hagerty description of these categories. With sport seats, limited slip and rare color easy $125K to replace, and rising. As you know I bought a 79 930 ( and almost got yours) from the same guy, and it was exceptional, as I believe yours is. With more than one 79 930 low mile originals that recently changed hands @$300K and more, Hagertys value guide does not take these into account so excellent 930 like yours should still have a good future upside. I have a 79 that someone keyed on the right side front fender and mirror. Most likely because it was so gorgeous and those primitive types ( get back to plowing by horse ), can't stand beauty or are jealous. To me it is a testament of its beauty and I doubt it would have been done if not, so I could care less. To me it's a #1 car by Hagerty value guide and would not trade it for the low mile standard option or color ones that have changed hands for much more. There are some all original paint cars that would pale in overall condition next to yours. You have a very nice 930, enjoy.
