I believe the bronze manganese guides are the ones to use. One other note regarding changing the guides on these cars: I believe there are ones available from the factory or "OE" suppliers that come already reamed for the valve. As I understand it, the correct way to do this is to use guides that are not reamed, presss them in to the head and then ream them precisely for your valve stems. If I recall correctly, the pre-reamed guides lose their shape a bit when they are pressed in, so that the contact area between the valve guide and valve stem is not optimal. This is important because the contact between stem and guide is the means for the valve (particularly exhaust valve) to dissipate heat. You're going to be spending a lot of $ here so you want to make sure its done in the best possible way and you get the maximum mileage from your investment.
