Your 3k rebuild kit has a 270 degree thrust bearing which is standard. Thats what comes in them from Borg Warner.
A 360 degree thrust bearing has more surface area and is more durable. It also has better oil control. Durabilt Turbo upgrades these turbos with a 360 degree thrust bearing when rebuilding them and then the assembled cartridge assembly is high speed VSR balanced.
I'm sure the place you mentioned does a good job too and maybe you can just mark the turbine wheels with a sharpie pen and reassemble it yourself in the same position it was before you took the compressor wheel off.
If you want reliability with a warranty I'd send it out. If you want to try rebuilding it yourself maybe it will work.

How does the shaft look under the blue masking tape? If it's blued from extreme heat towards the turbine wheel end it might not be perfectly straight anymore. If it's scored from coked oil and the piston ring grooves are eroded it's probably no good anymore.

Good luck with it.
