The propane torch and pipe wrench took care of the head studs. The pipe wrench bites best on the threads but I had to move it down to the shank for a few tough ones. I put some torque on the stud and then just held the torch on it until it let go and then kept the torch on until it was almost all the way out. Don't rush it, let the heat do the work. The four studs closest to the flywheel were the toughest for some reason. The two on the oil pump side can be heated from the back of the case behind the flywheel in addition to inside the cylinder spigot.
