Thansk Quattro, now I understand better.

Spuggy, I like the idea of boost control tied to RPM, but i'm not sure my SDS will do that. My 915 has all the those goodies to give its best chance for survival. My 2nd and 3rd gear synchros are starting to protest. So I think a refresh is in my future.

No the physical spring is the LOWER limit of your max boost. Hope that makes sense. You can't blow off LESS than the spring. The EBC controls the UPPER limit of boost by interrupting the pressure sensing of the physical valve/wastegate.

So, if you have a .9 spring in, whatever the EBC opens at .1, .5, .7, 1.5 whatever, the wastegate will not open below .9.

If you put in a .4 bar spring for example, you can use the EBC to let your wastegate open at anywhere above .4 bar
