Should I separate it?
I have my engine and transmission out. I've cleaned the outside of the G50, and planned to replace the bushings on the accelerator pivot only. Given that my car has low/no maintenance history, should I separate the transmission and engine to clean up the inner bellhousing and check for any issues (such as the clutch shaft)?

Todd, You could separate it and check, that is easy enough, but how did the transmission perform before removal?
Also we nee detailed information about your Porsche; model, year, mileage, any history, how long you have had it, mileage you have put on it, etc. etc. etc. Rahl

If the lump out out.. you gotta most definitely check out the clutch system. and give it a good cleaning..
It is really super easy once on the floor. |

if you knew when / if clutch ever addressed before I'd say leave it, but as you likely don't then you kinda have to at this point
separating is simple - like a bra strap POW! pairing them is where the challenge can arise others here had long warned of it not being 'easy' to catch the release fork onto the throw out bearing 'ears' when pairing I didn't catch mine last I tried this and it was a $1k mistake as I wasn't about to pull it all back out again. Oh yeah, and - the Omega spring can be a bit of a hoor too 8-) So, YMMV... but I'd say go for it ![]() |

Update the clutch fork rod and bushings if it’s not already done.
