front sway bar
took the 930 to the track this past weekend.
had a great time and learned a lot about driving this car, of course had a lot of oversteer. back end was hanging out quite a bit. lot of turn in over steer but I learned back on the gas really quick. was looking at this RSR type front bar, 22mm. it does not look like I have to cut any holes so that is a good thing. I don't want to get into changing the ride a lot on this car, in fact I may only do 1 or 2 more track days with it then switch over to my E46. one thing the rear end sits really hi on my 930. I looked at lowering it but the tires fir the fender wells really nice as it is now and both front and rear look the same, also had a LOT of brake fade. new rotors, cool carbon pads, rebuilt calipers, flushed lines and MC and put in motul 600 fluid. check rotor orientation and it is correct. yes I was overdriving the s*!t out of the car/tires at times but I wanted to know me and the car could do. yes I kept it on track except for one time when the brakes faded too much but I stayed on pavement, no spins. https://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/SuperCat/0812/POR_0812_SUSSHK_pg8.htm

I like the aftermarket swaybars. The one you are looking at is a 'thru the body" swaybar. The stock swaybar is mounted under the body (on the a-arm). If that is the case you will need to drill holes into the trunk area and mount the three bolt bushing holders inside the fenders.

The sway bar highlighted and referenced to pelican, is an under body Tarett sway bar, and does not go thru the body. Hence the 2 bolt main mount bushing items.
If it were a thru body, the kit would have the 3 bolt mounting ring assembly for the bar. Mark |

that's what I thought. It looks like it has the bushings for the factory clamps.
was thinking about it some more, I think I would like to stay with 19 up front but adjustable but they don't have an adjustable 19 that is NOT thru body. not going that route. other option is 22mm front and rear. the reason I am leaning towards this is that in the mountains with very tight twisty roads I really like the turn in over steer, then I could dial in some understeer if I track it. what about stock rear sway bar, but increase the rear Tbars and a 22mm up front. what size Tbar in the rear would I need to go up to equal a 22mm bar in the rear. just trying to reduce the rear end squat when accelerating but keep the handling the same as it right now.

If you want more sway bar from an underbody system, you need to find a thicker underbody bar, I think H&H or Eibach makes them...

I would advise using the "Thru the body" RSR style front swaybar. Much more efficient design and adjustable.

Ah the old photo switch-a-roo...that's not helpful.
As for me, I went with the Tarett 22mm thru body adjustable front and Tarett 22mm adjustable rears with Wevo weld on rear mounts. Could not be more happy, they have been on the car for years. Sure you had to drill for the front bar, and weld on the link tab onto the front control arms, no big deal. The rear was very straight forward, but did hit the 930 transmission. So I contacted Tarett and explained the unique issue with the 930 trans, and they sent me out a pair of spacer immediately, which I do believe they now include with every rear bar purchased for 930 use.
