3.6 turbo oil line fittings

Converting a 3.6 motor to forced induction and almost there. Got the drain squared away and went to hook up my oil line + check ball kit from TurboKraft and they’re different sizes.

3.6 oil sender I measured at M18x1.5
TurboKraft bolt is M14x1.5
Pulled other sensor which has M14x1.5 but I think this is oil temp and the sensor is so long, it won’t fit into oil line banjo. Any advice of what kit I need? I ordered the standard Borg/T3/T4 oil feed kit.

On the Turbo engines, that oil supply fitting is installed in conjunction with the low oil pressure switch (the switch that turns on the low oil pressure warning light) - what you are showing is the oil pressure gauge sending unit. The low pressure switch is near the crankcase breather cover, on the top of the engine at the bulkhead side; does your 3.6 have one of those switches?

A pick of the switch and how it's oriented (you probably have a braided line that screws into the banjo fitting, as opposed to the hard line with banjo that is in the drawing).

Both these sensors came from top of case (under manifold) towards firewall. Both came from the same approximate location and oil supply. I pulled the big sender first, realized it was the wrong one... and then saw the 1 wire sensor next to it with correct threads. But it’s definitely not a switch; no holes and probe-like so I assume it’s temp.

And yes, banjo fitting with AN line with the spring and ball.

Just finished digging. The big sender is the pressure sender AND the switch in one unit. Probe-like one is oil temp as I suspected but it’s the only one with correct thread size hole and it won’t fit banjo bolt. So looks like I need a different oil-supply bolt+banjo no doubt.

This is a 95 993. There is a plugged hole in the location of the original 930 oil feed to the turbo, forward of the pressure sensor. I seem to recall removing the plug with a hex key.

In order to use your parts you need #6 from Rawknees diagram. This part captures the oil check ball but has the larger threads matching the oil port.

Edit: in my picture I replaced the banjo fitting with a steel sleeve (black) and used an a/n line instead where the 930 pressure switch would have been.

interesting. Yours is even a little different still... my big sender sits vertical and the temp probe is closest to the rear of car, coming out of block at a slight angle. Yours has them switched places and both on a tilt; weird. I didn’t know of that block off though. That’s the ticket I needed! Thanks.

Now to figure out why I didn’t get that brass adapter block because I think it’s pictured in the kit so what gives...

I scabbed this from the web. 964 t-stat casting you describe. You can see the alum hex plug to it right.

What Jim2 said.

Remove the aluminum M18 plug to the right of the oil pressure sending unit. Thread in a Turbo oil adapter block (Genuine Porsche, order from any dealership) with a new crush washer, then our oil feed line assembly: ball, hollow bolt, spring.

Since you have a 964 and its low oil pressure switch is built into the pressure sending unit, you need to block off the M10x1.0mm port in the top of the hollow bolt -- or thread in an adapter if you want to use it for oil pressure monitoring in the AEM.
