EFI (turbo) in along hood - gas tank work?

Any of you guys run efi in a long hood and successfully used the factory gas tank?

The CIS and 930 tanks have a fuel pot to avoid a gulp of air, works fine with efi. I can’t find any images showing the inside of the long hood tanks to see what sort of fuel pick-up arrangement there is. Car is getting a 930 engine with Carrera intake, efi etc. I’d like to use my nice restored tank but I suspect it can’t deal with slosh.

Here is a picture of the fuel outlet/inlet taken from Johnny042’s build on the tech forum, gives an idea of what I’m dealing with.

The early fuel tanks do not have a swirl pot in the lower center. In my experience, Fuel pickup and/or starvation has never been an issue for carbs, MFI or EFI.

That’s great info Jamie, thanks. I can carry on with my restored tank instead of dredging up a cis dog tank.

Rod, not much to look at yet other than I'm just wrapping up front and rear suspension swap for some mild upgrades then I'll pull the drivetrain and start prepping the 930 parts.

The only long hood cars that had a fuel tank with a swirl pot were the 73.5T CIS cars. These tanks also accommodated a full-sized spare.

They are, understandably, rare, especially in good condition.
