934 headers on ebay

In case anybody is building or planning on building a 934 replica, or need a spare 934 header, I just happened across this ebay listing.

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Porsche-930-934-turbo-rsr-headers/254218198437?_trkparms=aid%3D888008%26algo%3DDISC. CARDS%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D20131227121020%26meid%3Dec1 edd1409364b34968dfd4cce1129ce%26pid%3D100009%26rk% 3D1%26rkt%3D1%26sd%3D323809121382%26itm%3D25421819 8437%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D2047675&_trksid=p2047675.c100009.m1982

Interesting thing is that it may not be made from stainless, unless it is coated stainless steel. But the price is quite reasonable, I thought.

Welds on turbo flange horribly cracked. Looks ready to shed a piece of FOD and take out your turbo. Would be nice as a piece of garage art.

Looks like the seller painted it with Duplicolor high temp BBQ paint and called it a day. By the time you add shipping, fix the welds properly and then ceramic coat them, you'll have $1500 into it

I would be embarrassed to try and sell those.
Anyone with a 934, or trying to build one, should have enough money and brains to avoid those POS headers.

Funny you guys think the hard part are the welds....

How long would it take to redo some of the welds? 2-3 hours of grinding and rewelding tops?

Making the headers actually functional from raw pipes to this is the hard part.

I agree the pricing is pretty steep, but definitely something to work with and make nice.

The prices I have seen for decent 934 headers are in the neighborhood of $2,500-$3,500. Considering that, I think these would be worth it just as a pattern. But like Tippy said, repairing these is just a few hours of fabricating and welding. Not good for a museum piece, but great for a driven/raced car.

Those headers are done. I wouldn't waste my time welding on those.
