Exhaust gas into the intake manifold??

Hi gents
In connection to repair of the engine of my 930 from 1979 California model, I realized something I found a bit strange. To me, it looks like the engine has got exhaust gas into the intake manifold, but it doesn't make sense to me?
Any suggestions, information will be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Looks like oil from an overfill or accumulation of fumes from the oil separator. It's also not uncommon for the turbo to leak a little oil into the intercooler which eventually ends up in the intake.

That's part of the awful EGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) setup the early California Turbos had.
Remove the nozzle, thread a plug into the manifold port. M16x1.5 or M18x1.5, if I recall correctly.

Looks like someone had plugged it from the rear. Kind of odd, the nozzle is usually removed then plugged.

In this case it is necessary to install an oil vapour recuperator.
