Hi guys.
79 930. Before i install my engine for the 4th time ( ![]() So i got a new clutch kit. Spec stage 2. Installed and as with the Sachs, the release bearing is hanging by the pressure plate. Every time i install it looks like it`s right. Fork cling to both ears and seems to be onto the bearing guide, but when i press the clutch pedal it just feel like i stretch the cabel. I can`t know for sure but i`ve not felt the clutch pedal feel yet. Feels like the bearing gets stuck on the bearing guide. Is the feeling that it`s hard but sort of smooth i want right? The sachs clutch was semi hard but had the clutch feel. You bottom out sort of. Before i install yet again i`ve taken a video and if you look closely at 14 sec it kind of jams if i turn the arm to far back. I have to adjust the height and back and forth to connect again. In this i rotated the bearing 180 to se if that helps. In out, in out in out... So tired of it ![]() Please check the video and give me an opinion please. ![]() View post on imgur.com

My opinion is, your release bearing is not engaged in the pressure plate fingers. You need to hold it against the fingers as you tighten the pressure plate down.
Right now I suspect the grease groove inside the bearing bore is hanging on the edge of the guide tube. Wait for other opinions. |

Thx for that. The release bearing is as lose as it was when i dismantled the Sachs. From tightening the PP it is a good 1-1.5cm clearance to actually stay in place, front to back. It`s totally hanging and not close to sticking to anything.
Maby i need to give it a yank to get it to the next groove. My first time ![]() ![]() Sorry for the ignorance but i`ve taken the engine out several times now, during a Megasquirt install so seriously exited to see what`s happeing there ![]()

Your pressure plate fingers need to be in this groove BEFORE tightening down the pp bolts.

You need to hold the bearing against the fingers AS you tighten the pp bolts. The bearing is then captive in the fingers.
