camshaft seal

is there a seal on the left cam housing where the pump bolts up.
I could swear I took one out when I took my engine apart and it sure looks like one would fit.

when I rebuilt my scavenge pump I still had a leak there.

Guessing this would be the same as the other side where the chain housing is mounted. Just changed that and would surprise me if they are any different. I put a thin layer of loctight 574 on both sides of the gasket and no more leaks. Anywhere i put that on as a sealer i stop any leak.

There is a paper gasket at the housing to the head. Sealant would be fine, IMO.
There is a rear main type seal at the housing to camshaft. I don't think that is your question though.

Not difficult at all. Just be sure to remove the top valve cover and time the cam after you reassemble while you're there. Just remove anything in the way, including the rear sheet metal, lower the engine a little bit and you got access. See link below
Setting cam timing with engine in car?
