930 back on the road !!!

well its been on stands for about 2 years due to broken head stud,
finally rebuilt the engine.

working on converting to EFI.
I put in all the sensors except throttle position and MAP. easy to do.
I ported the heads.
SC cams
twin plug but running single plug right now.
modified 7200 turbo

I left the CIS on for startup and engine break in purposes, glad I did.
started up pretty quick and no fiddling with it once it was running.
initial run in went smooth.

only 2 oil leaks, one before starting, I forgot to tighten an oil line to the oil tank and the other was an oil line at the scavenge pump. again, forgot to tighten it.

man it runs great!!!!
I cant believe how early the boost comes in with the new turbo.

I know the feeling... the first start is a relief for sure and it must feel great to check the 'RUNNING' box again! Congrats!

Reading this gets me itchy to plate my car again. It’s been off the road for 2 years now. Occasionally I start it up and wash it.
I rebuilt the motor about 10 years ago then installed BB headers about 5 years ago. Last year I did the clutch. Just need to touch the key and it fires up with only the slighted smoke ( I can’t recommend True Seal rings enough ). I took it out yesterday to compare wing sizes.
Which EFI are you running?

Congratulations! I can relate as my '76 had broken head stud and sitting for too long. Gives me some inspiration.

Now I just need some more money and time!

Congrats what a great feeling.

I can relate too. Been off the road for way too long for me as well.

i must admit. I was a bit depressed when it broke and I took it apart.
then what to do to it.
and the biggie that had my motivation down was putting all the time and $$ into and doing it myself and something going wrong, or it leaking like a Harley, (sorry Harley guys).

about 500 miles. I still have the nervous over sensitive ear (yes deaf in my left one) for any strange noise or miss, same with the seat of the pants feeling for something not running right,

You're not alone! I'm going through that with my current transmission swap. I'm listening to every little whine, buzz or rattle...

Is that normal?
Is it supposed to sound like that?
What's that?
That feels different...

Which EFI system are you using, or going to use?
