Old school way to twin plug I guess
There’s a guy on the classified selling a twin plug 930 engine on eBay. No affiliation but I thought the way they fired the second set of plugs was interesting- using the air pump / scavenger pump to drive it and provide a timing reference.
Just never saw it before and thought you guys might find it interesting or nostalgic. 1978-82 Porsche 911 930 Turbo Twin Plug Engine, 930.60

I never saw that before. definitely interesting way to fire/control the lower set of plugs. what is really great about it is when you open up the hood you see it as %100 stock single plug ignition!

This engine is at DC automotive, up the road a piece from me. I am planning a trip up there next week possibly. Not for this motor, but to get a few small parts.

It was common to drive distributors off the cam - just not on 911s. 944s did it that way if I'm not mistaken. Might've been done back in the day when twin plug distributors were very expensive and single plug ones were cheap.
