Anyone have a boost gauge lying around?

Thinking for Fraulein’s Christmas present I ought to replace the clock with a real boost gauge. My in-tach one seems to sweep linearly with boost but I know they’re inaccurate.
I just want a matching analog one to the other gauges, not a multi display digital type. I’d appreciate if any of youse have one on the shelf you’d part with, or if I have to plunk down for a new one, have a lead on a new one in stock. Our host does not have them and the ones I’m seeing online are out of stock or build to order sort of deals. Thanks

North Hollywood Speedometer is going to be your best bet.

Hey Kenny! Hopefully this means you've resolved your boost stumble?

Agreed w/ NHS suggestion. Key is to get one w/ both vacuum & boost - I'd traded Petey my telltale 2bar gauge (along w/ dzug strut bar heh heh) as I only need 1.5 and there was no vacuum (and he needed 2bar for EFI).

Lookin fwd to boostin w/ you somewhere come spring. Tho I did put 180mi on the r1100s yest 8 )

I got this Autogauge (don’t recall where:rolleyes:)
Might be worth a shot to try the inner webs. It was cheep and fits perfectly in the clock hole. Just ask Ronnie:D
The needle was white so I painted to match with some good ole Testors model paint.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1637448175.jpg

I’ll try NHS on Monday. My odometer just stopped advancing so maybe 2 birds with one stone.
PK- I like how that one shows a full vacuum and boost sweep.
Paulie- NG on the boost issue so far but that’s on my wasting all of 2021 just not in the mood to get after it. Amazingly I can tear down ship out and rebuild my engine and trans in one year and the following year not bring myself to pull that little handle on the drivers door pillar.
I figure I should have a good boost gauge anyway, and it’ll help me further diagnose what is going on. Right now my little tach boost gauge pins to 1 and then I start backfiring popping. What is my boost level really…. Who knows, although I’ve tested my wastegate with metered air and it opens at proper spec with my 1 bar spring.

I ordered my gauge from Palo Alto, pricy but very nice. Sounds like were chasing the same running issue. I've tried many of the remedies that others have mentioned to no avail. I threw in the towel back in September as I was getting nowhere and the issue only got worse.
I had problem after problem this year and only got to drive the car in anger about 3 times, the rest of the time it was apart trying to fix the issues. I had to take a step back for a few as the frustration had me thinking about selling after our 17 yr relationship. I don't mind turning money into flames as long as it's running good.

I hear dat loud n clear, Kenster... know that (sad) feeling well (sadly!) lol. Get the gauge and go from there... know you'll iron it out

To be honest I’m not sure. I’m running my stock unit in my 81 930
This ones for my 77 backdate turbo project which is yet to be started

ps. fergot to mention your odo failure - as you likely know, the trip odo gear sheers (best practice to never reset whilst rolling) due to brittle plastic degradation

CAREFULLY pried open speedo ordered gear and replaced DIY

or better yet

send it to NHS when buying your boost gauge for clock spot and have them fix odo & then graft in an AFR gauge in OE boost slot 8 ) That'd be IDEAL and well worth the $$$ IMO!

Also look into Seattle Speedometer if you are sending it out. NHS changed hands a few years ago and I have heard mixed reviews.

NHS took down my name but said they’re out of stock, super backed up, and don’t plan to build any for a few months. So I have that going for me.

Don’t overlook John who is a regular contributor here and does phenomenal work at really reasonable prices. I forget his user name but I’ll circle back after I find it.

Well, just heard from NHS and they’re shipping it out today. I’m sure it will be worth the almost 4 month wait- it’s just in time for the car to emerge from winter hibernation!
