He was moving the cheesecake from the interior to the frunk so his wife didn't have to hold it. We had a good conversation and I told him about my 911 projects. We exchanged #'s since he was considering selling it soon and we stayed in touch for the next year or so.

I had opportunity to buy it but was young and dumb. He ended up selling it to a buddy who knew of someone looking for a car like that.. missed opportunity on my end @$70k. Won't ever sleep on a deal again.

So, I followed a gorgeous SC one day in town and noted the rego. I went home and tracked the owner thru the rego (you could in those days). I filed his name and address in one of my Porsche books - right next to a beautiful full page pic of an SC.
I figured... one day I am gonna own one of these. A couple of yrs passed and I kept looking at the pics and the contact detail. Finally I figured if I was going to do something I should get off my a#*e. I called the guy and asked if he wanted to sell.
'Sold it last week'. WTF #$&*.
So I checked classifieds that w/end in our biggest city - some 2-300miles away, and found the only one listed that fitted the bill. And bought it over the phone that day.
Still got it now. Ain't for sale. Been approached several times.

I can't even leave my garage door open any longer without people pulling into my driveway and trying to buy my car. They aren't even enthusiasts, just opportunists looking to make a quick buck and hoping I don't know what I have. It's irritating.
I ended up buying a black welding screen so I can put it behind my car and work on it in peace.
