Bitz EFI for 3.0 Turbo conversion

Hello looking for advice
Motor:
1983 sc 3.0 - Turbo conversion
I Have a BAE kit -

-planning on going no more that 10psi

Going to do the Bitz EFI conversion

Is the accel injectors @ 30lbs/pr hr that are recommended with the kit enough fuel

Or - should I go with more?

Any help would be great thanks!

i don't think 30lb/hr will cut it. I started with 44 lb/hr on my '77 930 and it was not enough but I am running 17 psi (1.2 bar). You should be safe with 44 lb/hr injectors for 10 psi boost. That will support 350 bhp without exceeding 80% duty cycle of the injectors.

Dennis, how much horsepower is your 77 930 putting out?

Rahl,

I have not dynoed the car but I am maxing out the 55 lb/hr injectors currently installed. I was over 100% DC on the injectors at 6000+ RPM's until I retuned injector timing to get all the fuel in before the intake valve closes. Now around 95 - 98% DC. Need bigger injectors to support the GTX3576R I have not installed yet. I think there is too much exhaust back pressure with the GTX3071R currently installed. I would estimate around 425 HP right now.

The bitz efi is based on megasquirt 1 which is extremely old technology. I would go with a better ECU.

(see my signature) If you haven't already, go with the MS II daughtercard addon to the MS I at a minimum. I've done your exact route starting with the Bitz MS I ECU. Stock 8.6-1 compression on my ROW engine, Garrett turbo, Carrera manifold. 44lb injectors. <10psi netted me 360whp/321tq. I killed my 915 transmission, although I track the car I would drop the power to about 290 via a .2 bar WG spring and a manual boost controller.

A big no on the Bitz ECU. Invest in at a minimum Microsquirt. It will do everything you would need it to do. IF you are using the intake off the 3.0SC engine, you can use the fuel rails and adapters in Tonys kit, that will save you some time, but you are also going to want to control timing, and that is something that the Bitz ECU kit just cannot do out of the box. I was running 10lbs on my conversion and i was running 60lb/hr Siemens/deka injectors, then upgraded to 80lb after converting to E85

Tony put together an amazing kit that was straight forward from my limited glances over his documentation, but as others have said, MS1 is ancient.

I'd definitely look at other systems especially beings you are boosting the engine
