Throttle rod, bent? Braze joint broken

Cleaned up the throttle rod, the braze joint was broken, after some aggressive wire brushing I attempted to re-fuse it with MAP gas, and it did fuse but not what I would call a good joint.

The brazed wire end of the rod is bent out of plane with the upper section, I am guessing this happened when the previous owner replaced the clutch?
Am I correct in guessing this should lay flat and not bend up as shown?

I could easily correct the bends and then get out the oxy acetylene and redo the braze. I have an old nickel silver braze rod that is about 86,000 psi tensile strength, am guessing this is what the factory used.
Anyone got some pictures of a good throttle rod? Doing more guessing in this post that I am comfortable with

Sure looks like mine has hard a rough life. My loop end seems to be twisted clockwise along the axis so it is also out of plane .... Wonderfull
Got all the bends fixed, and discovered my Oxygen bottle is empty.

Yeah, oxy is the way to go. Should get a nice join. The angles are not critical. I just refitted my engine a few days ago and got a bit of a bend in that part of the rod doing so. It was caught up above the engine as the engine went in. Had to tweek it a bit to get it clear below. But it is not critical - the ball socket takes up plenty of misalignment.

The previous attempt looked like a lack of heat. I think he correctly identified the problem.
But yes, some care wil be needed with oxy. Small flame, not blasting it away.
I do agree tho that you would have thought propane etc would have got hot enough - but apparently not.
