1987 930 cam tower - talk amongst yourselves
PET shows 930 105 021 00 part number. Can anyone help me with the casting number? Are the 911 cam towers/ cam housings compatible?

All 4 brg 49 mm cam towers are the same dimensionally from 78-89 for 3.0, 3.2, 3.3 and are interchangeable left and right throughout that range. The main difference from a 3.0 or 3.2 to a 3.3 is the turbo motors L.S front cap bore plug is left out for the turbo scavenge pump drive and both are left out for 964 turbos for the PS pump drive. The very early towers have a 901 part # and a casting date of 77 but are still the same towers, they all eventually supersede to a 930 105 021 07 including the M30.69 3.3 964 turbos. I think the early 3.0 turbos and 3.0 Carreras would have even earlier cast dates but again the towers would all be interchangeable. I have a set of early towers with a 901 part # and a cast date of 77 I will post pics of later. Richard

Thank you Richard! I appreciate your input as it was exactly the information that I was looking for on the towers.

964.105.111.1R reads on my 1981 SC engine's cam towers. The engine was build 1989 as "austausch" replacement engine by Porsche (engine number AT63D65_ _). The actual part number might be 930.105.021.00 but it was made out of the same casting as 964 cam towers.
