Oil in intake tract - how bad?
Well, I know that oil in the intake tract is bad - just trying to determine how bad.
I pulled the intercooler and there was oil sitting in the lip on the up-pipe. I flooded the engine a bit getting my CIS set up, which I'm sure made the oil a little thinner. The turbo is a new K27-7200 and I have a catch can and factory scavenge pump (which I think is working fine based on the small leak at the intake side of the scavenge). Do we think the turbo needs a reseal, or is it just a result of the thinned out oil? I should have also mentioned I haven't even driven the car yet - just idled in my garage for probably less than 10 minutes total. |

Oil can drain/siphon down in to the turbo when it is sitting. I would run it first and see what you find. You may need an anti drain valve (TK- easy fix).

you didnt thin the oil enough to make a difference with 15 qrts of oil.
if you put enough fuel in there you stand a better chance of hydro lock. did you over fill it. i would run it some more.
