Back after a while!

Hi everyone, I had been away a while from the forum, then I came back and all was gone except the last month... I feared all had been erased but then realized it was my display options...

I haven't been here much as I have spent way too much time on airforums.com after a lapse in judgement in 2020: I purchased an old Airstream 345 motorhome... it's like owning a very old house, built on a very old truck... so loads to fix all the time. Since the family was a great motivator I have spent countless hours fixing that thing, and going on trips with the 4 kids, dog, wife, etc... So the 930 has not seen too much driving, maybe 600 miles each summer over the last couple years. And it has been very reliable so that has kept me away from this forum.

Now that the old motorhome is going away for the winter, I am getting some nice fall drives in with the 930 and preparing for the Winter projects so I'm back giving the old 930 some love, and back here!

Projects for this winter include fixing the sunroof (again), valve adjustment, auto heat controls, maybe looking for a quieter exhaust, and I'll start collecting parts before I do the headliner (I ripped it pulling a wire coat hanger from the hook on the side... stupid me). I'm thinking of collecting factory tinted windows as I'll have to pull them all before doing that job.

Looking forward to being back!

Cheers and thanks in advance for all the help once again!

David

Hey David; welcome back. Small world. I'm in the Valley. Not new to lapses in judgement, I picked up a '34 tri axle Airstream 2 years ago that unknowingly needed a shell off rebuild due to a rotten subfloor and frame. Miserable job. Ditto on the Air Forum. Like Pelican, the forums (fora?) take the edge off the cost of owning these critters.

But....it's too long for the shop so over the winter months there is always time to be found for the 930's needs.

If you find yourself out this way do reach out. I've love to see your 930.

Nice! Have you been at PCA events? I haven't this year (same reason as post no.1 :) ) but there is time for a few more rides this year for sure before the salt is on the roads. I was hoping to drive the Cabot Trail with the 930 but will see if I can find a gap in kids' hockey schedule. The valley is much closer! I'll be in touch, perhaps a pint at the Church Pub!
