OK. So I finally got around to taking the factory heat exchangers off today. 1 stud wouldn't cooperate so I've got a thread doctor coming around to fix that. So the GHL units I bought second hand are not wide enough across the banks to fit. And by a fair bit. 2-3 inches in your units. I'm really not sure how this can be but that's how it is.

So I can cut the flex joint and widen things. But I also need to mill out the flanges as they are actually narrower than the primaries by 3mm. Also the tubo flange is about 10mm left of current and that's not much but is a pain for a few reasons.

Other options are I have a set of 993 heat exchangers which could be fabricated into a turbo system. Big primaries, OE heat, good qaulity.

Last option is I have 2 sets of SSIs but I'd have to check the flange type and primary size. I guess they are tuned length, have good heat, are high qaulity but perhaps the primary size is too small.

Be grateful for your thougths on each pathway.

It’s a G50 or I wouldn’t have bothered. As for the hp are you familiar with the tuning possibilities of ethanol? But let’s try and stay on topic with my question being about the headers.

I would also like to know how you go with the E85 tuning... who do you have to tune it..... I am also in Melbourne ...keep me posted

E85 is a game changer with FI so there will be demonstrable gains. Tuner is Chequered Tuning in Keyesborough. Highly recommended.
