Intercooler rubber “skirt”

Not sure what you would call it but would anyone know where I might find a replacement or matching rubber to cut and replace? It’s 2mm thick has a slight texture on one side and smooth on the other.

Thanks!

Bill

Interesting, I don't believe my 1986 turbo had this part. What year is your car?

IIRC it was only on Euro ‘79 cars.

Never seen this piece before. Interesting flap of rubber, wonder if it was intended to force more air through the intercooler, shield components below from rain, or another purpose? Interesting it was one year only and not carried forth. Rubber looks like something you could acquire from an industrial supply company like McMaster-Carr of the right thickness and durometer, and carefully remove your old one, and use it as a pattern to trace on to the new rubber, and cut out carefully to make a new one. May not have the exact same surface finish but would serve the same mechanical purpose. How is it fastened to the bottom of the stock intercooler? With adhesive, or some sort of clamp strip?
