930 as your daily?
Now this might be a ridiculous question in 2023...for many different reasons...
But does anyone use their 930 as their daily driver....? |

I’ve done it on and off for years. Not as much since my wife retired though.

Not a good idea. Parts get more and more expensive and in the Midwest the infrastructure gets worse and worse…

I do drive my 930 for a 100 miles at least per trip.. These trips may only happen twice a year but it’s good to take a long drive when you do take it out. Short trips are not good if it is driven infrequently.

Yes! But not for long, sort of inconvenient... But definitely a weekly driver, and since retirement easy every other day, alternating other pcars. The more often you drive them the better they get!!!

I used to, for around 10 years. My wife and I were driving it all over eastern US. I bought it with 34K, I think I have around 150 on it now. We've had it in every state East of the Mississippi so far.
For around 2 years I was driving it from SC-DC for meetings every other week. Longest trip was SC>Maine>Vermont>SC. Going into retirement next year we are looking for a 4 door long distance cruising car, like a new 928, so I've been looking at 2015-18 Pano S's, I definitely want the TT V6 and NOT the 8 for the mileage. Also looking at same years Audi S6's... Tim

I ran into a Porsche buddy this past weekend. In the course of conversation, he mentioned he hardly drives his Porsches on LA roads anymore. Just too dangerous. He’s been rear-ended 5 times in his cars: 4 times to his G-body cab, alone. He had to chase one hit-and-run guy once. (Wound up enlisting the help of a cop, and they actually caught the guy, who was subsequently arrested.)

Daily....nope. Have plenty of other vehicles to serve that purpose. The 930 is just for adrenalin fix as needed, open roads, 50 miles or so each time. Don't need to add mileage to a 36 year old relic but for pleasure only.

I will soon be getting the 930 after over 2 years in a shop. So looking forward to having it again. Have enjoyed the heck out of 356 which has the monster stump pulling 2.2 Wilhoit and was gone over 2 years. I was supposed get ac in there but those are not an easy add on. So I got the cooler you may have seen advertised. Tried it one time and only had one hose. Now have the splitter. I just hope the AC on the 930 with all new everything works well. Naples Florida is a steam bath in the summer. Plan to make the trip down to key west soon.

Every nice day I can, averages 3 days per week since I retired. Spent some money to rebuild engine/transmission/AC and convert to EFI. Car just turned 80K miles, owned for 20 years, never enjoyed it so much!!

I'm looking forward to retiring and enjoying time with family and old Porsche's.
Now just to hit some goals to be able to do it sooner than later..
