Adjustable WUR

Hi guys, I have a spare WUR I plan to have overhauled at Flowtech, but hoping you might be able to help me out with the current one given their long lead time.

I had it rebuilt and it was made adjustable for CCP. Unfortunately, it keeps losing its CCP calibration and pressure is currently 4.5 bar when it should be around 2. The rebuilder is radio silent, but I think I understand the plug is knocked in to lower CCP and pulled out via the nut/screw to raise CCP.

Since I would like to try to lower CCP and am wondering what the best method might be for knocking the plug in and by how much. Thanks for the help!

just loosen the nut a 1/2 turn and tap the top of the allen screw with something blunt do it with the pumps on so you see the pressure, drop below where you need it.
then slowly tighten the nut to bring the pressure back to where you want it. make sure its unplugged and cold be sure to use the correct pump curve chart for your motor.

Something is wrong here. It can't go out by 2+bar without other stuff being wrong.

Thanks, Alan - any idea in what the other stuff may be?

I did knock it back in quite a ways and managed to get it pretty spot on, but I do think WCP is now a bit rich - nothing terrible, but 13-14 AFR on cruise. I will put gauges back on today and check it out.

I did get in touch with the gentleman that rebuilt it and will be sending it back for further analysis. Any idea what would cause this?

EDIT - WCP in spec after about 2.5-3 minutes of power on, so I suppose it’s good?? Would still like to know what happened to CCP.

Chuck are you sure the CCP is not just being affected by ambient temperature? It’s designed to fluctuate.

When you reset the CCP it throws the other setting out. You have richened the CCP by dropping it down - so it richens the WP as well. That requires resetting now - the internal allen key adjustment.
I can't recall how it all interacts - but I would first check the inlet screen in the WUR.

Good point on the inlet screen.

I did check pressures using the diagram in my FSM - going so far as to use a food thermometer to get precise engine bay temp. I no longer have the manual in front of me, but there isn’t a CCP value in the graph anywhere near 4.5 (I do remember offhand the WCP is 3.65 bar +/- .2, so presumably max CCP isn’t higher than that).

What’s odd is that the pin height (at least judged by height of Allen screw) seems lower now than it ever was previously. I didn’t check the values previously, but based on my AFR gauge, it had been running fine for 500-1000 miles since rebuild.

Depending on temp you CCP should be around 2 bar, WP around 3.6.
Yes your value is/was too high. Something not right.
But I think a partially blocked screen could give you the same result.
Regards
Alan
