Are they NLA? I bought one off our host a few years ago pretty cheap. I have one kicking around if you need it.

Thanks,
They are available our host has them for 275$ The thermo time switch is pricey. I'm eventually going EFI and would rather not spend so much on a simple switch. I found a 49.99$ solution - will update upon verifying it works - But my debug and testing says it will. Stefan |

what makes you think the switch is bad?? the tts doesn't work like most other circuits in the car . you cant think of it as a normal in and out switch switch, that is not how it works. I just thought i would mention it before you go down the rabbit hole.
In a nut shell its two separate circuits that opens and close to ground one contact on the switch is for the internal heater about 2700ohms to ground should only stay closed for 8 to 10 seconds when powered and the other contact is powered when your starter is cranked but runs trough the heating circuit internal contacts and the switch is only closed when the tts it is below 50 degrees +- . there is a good explanation some place on here from years past. . . i just went through this on my 76 row . if you do need a used on they are quite cheap on ebay Regards Ned Last edited by gorskined; 02-15-2024 at 07:07 AM.. |

I tested the switch and determined the heating side was non-operational.
My 45 $ fix is a hardware engineer who works at a start-up developing aero-space and submarine sensors. He took the thermo time switch apart and found a broken wire in the heating unit and repaired. He said he would not do another as it was a bear to get apart and back together. Thanks, Stefan thermo toime swicth is re-installed and working like a champ ! |
