Early 911 3.6 conversion SSI RSR 2 in 2 out muffler options
I have a 72 911 that's having a 3.6 conversion and is fitted with the SSI 41mm heat exchangers. Will be an RSR look vehicle.
I require a 2 in 2 out muffler PDQ. Has to be off the shelf and not a custom job. Ideally looking for 70mm tailpipe trims, banana style box ( something faithful to the OEM design without the 3rd outlet ), OEM trim length ie not too long and something that won't make my ears bleed. Only 2 options that I've found that meets this criteria are from Cargraphic ( trims are 76mm though ) and Eisenmann. They both look like they have longer trims that stick out further past the horns than the Dansk mufflers do.. DP motorsport and mittelmotor do ones that look correct but they are straight through megaphone types, with no universal adaptor and inlet in wrong place to marry up with SSI outlets. Not sure if they can be adapted and not ruin the exhaust flow. Appreciate feedback off anyone that has some alternative mufflers or some ideas on adaptors to use straight through.. Car is for road use, might see the track a couple of times. |
