Looking for My Dream Project Car – 930 Porsche
Thread: Looking for My Dream Car – 930 Porsche
Ever since I can remember, the Porsche 930 has been the car of my dreams. The timeless design, the raw power, and that iconic whale tail—it’s everything I’ve ever wanted in a car. I’m finally ready to take the leap and start my journey toward owning one. I’m looking for a project car or roller 930 to bring back to life. Something I can work on and build over time. Located in the USA and willing to travel for the right car. Budget is flexible depending on condition. If you or someone you know has a lead, please reach out or tag them here! I’d love to hear any stories or advice from fellow enthusiasts who have restored or owned a 930. Let’s connect! #Porsche930 #DreamCar #CarRestoration #PorscheProject |

Enjoy the process. I recommend starting with the cleanest / nicest car you can unless you want to spend a ton of time on body and paint.

10 years ago I decided that I needed one more car to work on in retirement. I have owned and refurbished many cars in the past so finding a new project was my goal.
One of my first jobs in life was working at a VW dealer in the early '70's I got to work on the bosses' Porsche 911. The Choice was easy, find a 911 project car, something I could drag in and fix up the way I wanted it, maybe a wide body or turbo or something cool like that. After looking all over the country and being surprised by the high pricing and poor availability I was lucky enough to find a car locally. I went to look at it and was stunned. In the end I paid more than I ever had for any car. It was recently rebuilt as a show car, widebody, turbo. A car like this still needed lots of hours to satisfy me or maybe it was just the need to work on it and make it mine. The price I paid was just a drop in the bucket to what it is worth today If you are lucky enough to find one with most of the work already done ....buy it. Use all of those "fix-up" hours enjoying the car, there will still be plenty to do. ![]()

If I did not own a 52k mi 1985 930, I’d probably buy the above car. Bet it wont last a week. 930’s are HOT and highly Desirable and only going one way in price. Good luck
