Twin Turbo engine oil?

Hey guys,
What oil are you all using?
I’m looking to use Penrite 10W60 (fully synthetic) in my TT’d ‘89 Carrera motor.
Thoughts?

I use this after consulting with the owner of High Performance Lubricants.

TurboKraft used Driven DT50 15-50 for my rebuild, and was *so impressed* with the "gooeyness" of the oil, waaaaaaaay beyond anything I've ever experienced - like nothing I've seen before.

Spendy, but I'm stickin with it. HTH

I've been using 20/50 VR1 from Valvoline for years, mostly because it has high zinc ZDDP...and because it's readily available. And I'm soooo impressed with it (meaning my motor has yet to blow up). The true measure of success.

Same here on the Valvoline 20/50 VR1 and no more flattened cams!

What convinced me on Valvoline VR-1 was how well it holds up in heat. The flashpoint was as good or better than some synthetics.
I’m a firm believer that driving home at a slow pace and idle for 30 seconds will help prevent the coking issue

Interesting on the 20W/50 VR1.

With the 10W60 I’m noticing leaks I never had before! 😡

No big surprise when switching to synthetic oil. It has a way of finding leak points. I stick with dinosaur squeezin's, not concerned with "coking up" my turbo since I don't run it that hard for extended periods. 20/50 works good for my semi-arid climate and high zinc is important

Good to know. Might do the same actually.

I seem to be leaking oil from under the M18/M14 engine case adapter where I’m tapping the oil feed from for my TTs. 🙄
