Wheel stud question.....

Hey guys,

I am ordering a set of Fikse FM10's for my 77 930 and I am having them made to delete the factory wheel spacers and allow me to go to a much deeper dished wheel in the front and rear.

I am curious if anyone knows where I can get assorted lengths of studs for 930's?

Any thoughts would be great!

I don't know about the studs, but I'm contemplating a similar wheel purchase. My plan is to loose the rear spacers but keep the front spacers. This way if I change to 80 or later hubs and disks, the wheels will still work but without the spacers.

Just two thoughts: What length do you currently have? If you have 100mm studs, to remove you have to pull the hubs. To pull the hubs, you'll need to replace the rear bearings.....this becomes a labor.

Do a search on how long of studs you can remove without pulling hubs, been too long since I did mine.

You could just keep the studs to allow options on future rim options street/track and such and just run open ended lugs. Tech guys love seeing open lugs wiht studs protruding and it does give a racey not ricey appearance in my eyes.

What exactly do you mean from "assorted"?

You have a very good point Luke! I had not thought of that but it is something I have seen on other racey not ricey P cars. My lug nuts are already open ended so I think I will try this first as my car has very aggressive track look not street by any means.

If Fikse knows that you want to delete the spacers and builds you wheels properly, you should be fine with the studs that are in your hubs.
