rating intercoolers

Can I gewt a relative rating of the various intercoolers available so that I make the right choice to modify:
Car is a 79 930 turbo with stock turbo and exhaust, plans to upgrade both but intercooler is first.
-----Can you rate each below based upon your experiences on a scale of 1 to 10?

a) Stock: 1 to 10

b) Kokeln: 1 to 10

c) Blownsix: 1 to 10

d)Andial: 1 to 10

I'd be interested in objective answers... not subjective.

It would be nice to see actual pressure drops, temp drops, etc...

Great question! You just may get alot of answers, many older threads on this subject, but this is a new forum and there are new players in the market. Fit and product quality are also of concern.

A lot of variables on an undefined question.
The answers can't be much better until we hear more -

Tell us how you plan to use the car.
Track time?

For example, perhaps for your use, a different IC is a waste of money.

Plans are to run 5-10 DE or track weekends a year. So the car will be driven on the street and on the track fairly hard.
----Plan on eventually upgrading the exhaust to headers and a K27 turbo. Keeping the a/c though, as I like the fact that it still works.
Thanks for the info.....
Actually hard data would be great if it could be posted with your ratings as well.

To me, that is a lot (if I am lucky, I get my Porsche on the track 2-3 times a year).

Spend real money and get something good.

BlownSix provides that data - check their site or give them a call.

I think everyone is getting away from my original question....
Again, I am looking for ratings of each cooler based upon your experiences with them.
Fit and finish and performance based....
Now you know my intentions with my 930 regarding track time and such.
------Keep in mind I am not so much interested in the data from the actual suppliers becuase they are obviously going to tell you how great their system is versus competitors.....

thanks,

Yes, but you want data, don't you?
------
OK, I'll give it a shot.
I *believe* the Andial may be an older design - I could be wrong.
Kokeln - pretty damn good. Open wallet fairly wide ;-)
Stock - for track use as you stated? Nah.
B&B - not quite big enough for (edit: heavy) track use.
BS - 965 IC takes some fiddling to fit, but it is what I will be using. My choice for your application.

Craig, do you have any pics & description on what it took to fit the BS 964 IC? With or without AC? I know, delete Ac would remove lots of weight but I really like my AC.

Don't know yet, but look at the size:

This is really a post that can be answered from taking the car to exact conditions in all cases.

I have tested the B&B intercooler vs the stock vs two intercoolers I designed for my 930. On other words 4 different intercoolers. All were tested at the lab at my office with pressure drop differences, I did some testing on the street to simulate heat soak with a digital Pyrometer.

The stock intercooler is worthless even on a stock car with ZERO mods.

The B&B and the smaller IC I designed were pretty close in results. B&B performed better than my expectations.

The larger IC I designed (larger core than the Kokeln) will support around 550-600hp if not more.

Here are some pics and I have tons:
