MSD location
I searched and didn't find anything to answer my question. Has anyone mounted an MSD or the like in the smuggler's box (or anywhere else up front)? I think it would be a cleaner install but I'm wondering about the extra distance from the coil. If I use larger gauge wire I won't have to worry about resistance but I'm concerned about the time it takes to travel the distance. When things are happening in microseconds a few extra feet may matter. Any comments?

My MSD is under the drivers seat. Henry Schmidt from Supertec mounted it
there and it is clean and out of site. MSD6AL triggering two Blaster II coils. Works great with my twin plug turbo ![]() |

The shorter the wires the better. Some have placed it in the location of the stock CDI. I installed mine on the engine firewall at the right rear.
