Please detail how the 86 is much more sophisticated then the 80.

Legal issues hahahahahahahaha the 80 930 has been in the US for years and is currently registered so what "legal issues" might it have?

Cheers
The ROW cars have been in America for years what makes you think there are any smog issues?

I like your thinking as I think the same. I just helped someone put a CIS motor through emissions...... Bolt up cat, and turn the fuel adjustment (after marking original position) lean as possible until the thing almost lean misfires and run it through, she will pass with flying colors. Just make sure you dont drive it very far like that because it tends to get a little warm

Im sorry if Im barking orders, I just got excited when the emissions guy told me that the computer kept asking if the probe was in the tail pipe as it was reading such low numbers. I think I got 4 ppm hydrocarben, .04% carbonmonoxide, and .02% carbondioxide. Those are low enough numbers to make a Honda hybrid look like a dump truck. However, they did not test for Nox, in which case I may have had a big problem.

That is where I lucked out, I guess they didnt test for Nox on the car that went through. I dont know, but I think they will only go after Nox if the car in question was equiped with an EGR valve as to make sure that it is working and doing its job. I dont know why they didnt take an EGR reading on the car that I am speaking of.....

I got it to pass!

I would suggest you get a PPI done. (at a reputable Porsche shop) I'm not sure how far Dougerty's is from you. He might be a good place to start. Have the Mech pull the valve covers and check for any broken cyl head studs, get leak down check done as well. It'll cost you but save you in the long run.

Good luck

they did send it to a porsche dealer and they said the oil leak is at one of the head gaskets.the car is modified with k27 turbo, kokeln intercooler, andial fuel enrichment ,premitire ignition sys(i think)and a boost controler they said it dynoed at 390 to the wheels.the car runs fine i just dont want to purchase something that im gonna have to tear down and split the case to get case savers put in.
