9 to 10 inch wheels- worth it?
Any thoughts on going from stock 7/9 x 16" Fuchs to aftermarket 8/10 x 17"? Is it worth it? Or is the only logical step to 18" 9's and 11's (ex: hollowspokes)?
Currently on stock suspension, but with plans to upgrade. Thanks!

It always seemed to me that anything over 17" was too much on the older cars, but maybe that's just me.
17's do open up tire choices a lot more.

The optimum tire wheel combo for a stock bodied 911 930 is 81/2 or 9 inch wide front wheels with 245 40 17 tires
for the rears 11inch wide tire size 315 35 17 I would suggest the 17 over the 18 for the street but the 18 for the track

I run 9x17 and 11x17 with Victoracers in 255/40 & 315/35. This setup, along with a mild suspension upgrade from SRP made my car a helluva lot easier to drive on the track. Stock HP... -Garen (87 930) |

Speak of the devil.........17" but with 275 up front / 315 rear:
![]() Edit: Those are the 255 V700 up front - which felt like crap with the alignment.....then went to the V710 once they were available again.

Craig - are those CCW's on your car? That's what I plan on buying for the 82 (if I get it). Did they just fit right on or were spacers needed?
Thanks!

Thanks, for some reason the link was way too long and wouldn't take to shortening up on a finished auction.
So Vic - Will these really fit your 1979 930???? "These will fit the following vehicles: 993, 930, 964 & May fit 928, 944, 968 with hub adaptors & flared rear wings"

well, perhaps my excitement of being a new owner just burned me. I'm normally very cautious on ebay, and asked for offsets on other wheels that I did not bid on, but read this ad saying that it will fit a 930, and didn't question the offsets.
I've sent him an email asking offsets. Hopefully he knew what he was talking about and it will work. If not, then I might have a set of Kinesis wheels for sale. we'll see.............

OK, he says the set came off of his own 1990 930, no spacers used. I guess I'm OK?

1990 930 is a C-2 turbo. I have one at the shop and I'll measure the offset for you in the morning.
Craig, You seem to have a great personality. I hope we get to meet at the track one day
