930 mechanic in Memphis area

Recently acquired a '77 930 turbo and now looking for a good dependable independent repair shop in either the Memphis, TN, Little Rock, AR or Jackson, MS areas.

Any recommendations? Thanks

http://patwilliamsracing.com/ hands down the best. When I first bought my car I didn't know of Pat, and when the car developed a miss I took my car to eveyone in town, they kept it for weeks and never could fix it... one even suggested it must need a top end rebuild. Pat diagnosed and fixed to problem in less than 30 minutes. Be sure you call ahead before going there though, they are a smallshop and don't do well with "walk ins".

I second that recomendation for Pat Williams. He has my car now. I have tried several others (that claimed to be cheaper) and he is the best. He is currently redoing EVERYTHING that the less expensive mechanics did. Wow, I really saved some money by paying for everything twice.

Pat William's website shows they can convert CIS injection to a more modern EFI with more power and quicker throttle response. Anyone have and experience with this conversion from Pat Williams Racing??

Howdy IDR,

PWR EFI experience? Little over three years and 15,000 daily driven miles of it in this 930 I've had for 23 years. I have the first system which dates from June 03, did the developmental driving on the stock engine conversion as well as the modified PWR Package Engine version and when the latter was completed in 12/03, I've not cracked the deck lid open accept for 3-4 oil changes since. It is driven hot/cold everwhere rain or shine.

I do his web development (EFI conversion completely outlined here ) and my car is the white one used throughout this site. He generally has 3-4 conversions going at a time so you should have something to ride in when you schedule a visit, or contact him in advance and I'll swing by so he can take you for a.... spin - shall we say - around the block in it.
