Question Lindsey wheels on a 930 - show us your pictures....

Another option I am thinking of for street use - 17" Lindsey wheels.
I'd like to see pcitures of 930s with the Lindseys!

Mirage in San Diego (CA) makes them as well. There was a recent thread on rennlist :

http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/showthread.php?t=321263&referrerid=36992

Notice that the "Fuchs" part of the wheel actually overlaps the outer rim, therefore making the center look larger. If you paint the center black, this setup would give you a better proportion of center to lip, vs the traditional method of having the two rim halves sandwiching the center section. My opinion...

Hope to have mine mounted in two weeks or so:

The quality of the welds (on P2's) is amazing. Mike is great to work with too- very knowledgable.

Jim -

Can you post a pic of your car......I'm trying to visualize car/wheel styles together.

hijacked pics...

Here are a couple of pics from SoCal Mike, on rennlist. Hope he doesn't mind me hijaking these:

You can see that the wheels look like they have the right proportion. I feel that even the 16" fuchs wheels look a bit too small in the center. Almost as if Porsche used the 15" center dimensions and added 16" hoops! It only gets worst when you bump the outside to 17's. Lindsey should be able to sandwich the wheels like this too, I would imagine.

Do you have any street wheels now, or just the Kinesis track ones?

I agree, the 17" Fuchs really do look 'correct'.

I have a set of 9" & 10" RUF wheels - the rears are brand new, the fronts quite nice.
About 40 miles total on them - thinking of Lindseys so I am 'saving' the RUFs:

I've been considering Lindsey's for my 930.

I know this has had to have been disucssed at length... I've searched, but haven't been able to find... Where are the discussions about the safety of these wheels? Are they OK for the track?

Thanks,
Skip

The Ruf's do look nice. And new. If you like the look, why not just get a set of the re-released Ruf's? I suspect that the Lindseys or Mirage wheels will be around the same price as the Rufs. I keep going back and forth on this as well. I want to run a more aggressive track tire, but being that the CCW's are my only wheels, I am limited to the V700. I thought about getting a set of CCW's in the same finish as my current ones, but in 8 and 10 inch widths, so that I can alternate between tire sizes if needed. Toyo RA1's, etc. But then again, the 17x11's do fill the rear fenders rather nicely... Decisions, decisions...

Garen (87 930)

EDIT: I'm assuming that the Ruf's you have are Speedlines, vs the newly released versions...

Well, interesting that you asked NorCal. Yes, I am running spacers and when from Dunlop P9000's or maybe it was 8000's can't remember - they never rubbed. I am running BFGoodRich Gforce now and the sidewalls are not as vertical as the Dunlops were and have shaved off some of the raised lettering on them - no big deal though.
