Will they fit??
I have a chance to pick up a set of GHL headers with heat that were used on an engine in an 88 3.6L ....however I don't know if the ones off a 3.6L will fit on a 3.3L?? If they do, will they take any modification?
I would appreciate someone with better knowledge than mine to give me some insight. Chuck

I think the 3.6 turbo's had slightly larger exhaust ports, so the 3.6 headers you speak of may not be a direct bolt-on affair with a 3.3. You may need to open up your exhaust ports

I'm running 993TT headers on mine. Since a 993 I had to flip the flanges on one side. If I'm correct, this was not the case for 964's. The port size may be bigger, but the exhaust pipes on the 993's were only 1.5" which I don't think are to big. Again, not 100% sure of your exact application, but I'd DEFINITELY keep researching.
If 993's work, I find it hard to believe the 964's wouldn't???? Another option, call GLH tommorrow ![]() The only reason that I know why you can't mount SSI's on a 964 is that it would choke it down. I think that if your cross section goes up in the primaries the velocity will be improved enough by design and length that the turbines will still see more heat and better pulsing. Certainly might be a good shot.

I called GHL today and talked to Brian....they won't fit...the 3.6 L uses larger ports and using these will actually result in a loss of power for a 3.3 L.

Chuck, sorry I missed your post earlier as I could have saved you some time. I had the same opportunity about 2 months ago, but with B&B headers. Called B&B (useless) and a few smart turbo shops to learn exactly what you stated above. Too bad since I could have had them for $400...

Hrm... you could try out the OBX 930 321 headers for ~$400 and let us all know how they perform! LOL!

From what I've heard, most of the stainless products like the OBX are coming from China...and there are various grades of 304 stainless...and I have doubts as to whether some of these advertised as 321 are really 321. I'm not saying that the Chinese manufactured headers are inferior....it's just that there's no emipirical data available...no quality control info...all too new and not enough folks who have been there done that to give us some feedback. $400 for a set of headers is tempting...but not without some testing or personal experience. I'm skeptical from the standpoint of material, quality of welds, and particular composition of the stainless steel being used.
