Also all of "marcos headers" have burns collectors, unless the customer requested something different . He made alot of headers at his previous employeer that didn't but the ones that have his company logo(billet design) normally do. I know he mentioned making his own collectors to me awhile ago, but determined that they are so time consuming it was cheaper for him to buy them from burns.

How do Powerhaus headers rank in all of these ???
I am looking for a relatively cost friendly heater box style header, so what is the best option ???? Jerry S |

Just got the OBX's.
Are they stunning: nothing special beyond the superficial polish. They are true mandrel bends with no pinching, ratchet marks or dimples. Certainly no attempt to get equal length made. Do the welds on my "individual" set look reasonable: yes, nice stacked dimes and good penetration. No bubble gum or oxidation notable. Flange and flange welds and die grinder work: nice, actual signs of quality fitment and clean up inside of pipes by hand. Flanges: fixed Collectors: Here is where they, as many low cost ones, fail in design. Execution of the collector design is not bad, just simple and lack ideal design. There are no open edges or areas of void where the pipes merge, but some distortion and possible reduced cross section as they enter the collector. Primaries to collector do have some voids that will likely disturb flow and may be vulnerable in a boosted application, though these are NA specific headers. Overall: Better than dollars spent if compared to what you might get elsewhere. For about the same price as mild steel Bush headers, I don't feel cheated of my $375. |
Thanks for the review Luke... they don't sound too bad at all. I guess time will tell how well they hold up. Cheers :D

Cool. Can you post some pictures?
Thanks for the more detailed analysis of the headers. A lot of folks have been waiting for someone to take a more critical look at them....now the acid test is going to be how well they actually stand up to use. As you said...the price is right.....I look forward to some follow up.

God, that was one amatuer nasty ugly post. Sorry for the white blobs...my connection sucks so bad I always try to crop.
Hey...you put something up for us to see...we're more into function that form.... :)
for the price you could almost have the collectors taken off, cleaned up and rewelded and still be ahead....welll maybe....
BTW: thanks for the pics, they do look very decent apart from the collectors.
These are NA headers, so their turbo headers would be different. I'd like to see the welds and collectors on those
Im shocked Hilary is the best candidate to date .
See what you get for 25 bucks ? HPV |
Any news on this part?
Installation things/foult? fittment issues? maybe a dyno? would be great!1 Falk |
He said they he wasn't going to put them in till this coming spring....and spring hasn't sprung yet... :)
Anyone actually using the OBX turbo headers yet? I'm interested in hearing feedback about how they look, fit and install etc. I'm turbo'ing my Carrera and am looking at these or the GSF's.
Now I hear the GSF and the OBX are one & the same. True?
They are made by the same factory.... so I'm told.
Same factory in China?? From what I understand, there are a number of name brands that are now outsourced to China....Schnell is supposed to be one of them.....OBX too...but that doesn't mean the fitment or construction is faulty or substandard....just that Made in USA doesn't apply much anymore.
