Before I start to pull and tug at the old rubber intercooler seal can anybody tell me if there is a nice easy simple way to remove it and also a nice simple easy way to fit the new one?
Advice and help gratefully received... Regards Steve in the UK |

Steve - I applaud you and anyone that wants to replace that rubber around the IC. I have yet to see one..regardless if the mileage of the car is only 1,000miles or 100,000miles where that IC rubber has not split. Might be a good idea to replace the sealing O-rings while you are at it too. I would say get a sharp blade and surgically cut the old one off.

Thanks Yasin,
The old one is split, I phoned Porsche and they said £87+TAX for a new one. I said "What its only a bit of rubber". Salesman said, "Well how much would you pay". I said, "err... £20". Salesman said "OK then". I said "Damn! I wish I had said £10". Yes he sold me one brand new for £20 it arrived today. I guess cutting the old one off is not a bad start... Anybody else done this before? Regards Steve |
