739 RWHP! 965
I ran on the track with this car a couple of years back in my 480ish hp 930, he left me like I was in a minivan, I mean it was unreal. It's a built EFI tuned 3.8 with cage, suspension etc...
I was browsing the dealership's website and was surprised to see the car, and heard secondhand that the owner has passed away (RIP) and his family has the car consigned for sale. Thought I'd post a heads up since hearsay has it that the reserve is incredibly low, like a little over half of the cost of the mods alone. I don't have any connection whatsoever to the deal, just thought I'd point out an incredible opportunity. I would jump on this myself if I wasn't elbow deep in a different project myself. Anyway, here's a link; http://www.parkplaceltd.com/vehicle.aspx?stockNo=6349&title=1991%20Porsche%20911%20Turbo%20-%20739hp%202%20Dr%20Coupe&inv=330&vin=WP0AA2964MS480221&pos=45¤t=1&size=50&nav=All&filter=(Make='PORSCHE')

From what I can read with my bad eyesight on that dyno sheet, it looks like he's getting that number at just over 1bar!
I'd certainly want to get Squires or Chris Powell or somebody to check that engine out carefully, because at 108,000 miles it could be pretty hammered. But so long as an eggplant Porsche doesn't bug you, this could be pretty amazing. |

The chassis has 108K miles, stands to reason that a non-stock displacement engine must not be the original, and thus it's safe to assume that the miles on the engine are less? Not to mention most of the other major components have been replaced and upgraded somewhere along the line. Nevertheless many questions remain to be answered for sure, one of them may be whether Chris' was involved in the engine build himself, which for some reason to me may be a possibility based on a vague recollection.

I think I saw that car at the track a few years back.
That car produces the same HP at 4,300 rpm that my car produces PEAK at 6,300. Wow. I can't help but be curious if that dyno graph is truly a chassis dyno, or an engine dyno. Either way, a hell of a car. The HP & TQ + boost curves look really promising - and driveable. Chris didn't have anything to do with the build, and hasn't seen it, but said it sounds ineresting. If I were thinking of buying it, I'd see if I could find who/when/what mileage the build was done at. I'll bet the receipts mentioned clarify that question. A Google search for "Chip 930", "Chip's Porsche" or even "Purple Porsche" didn't tun up aything. The name comes off that dyno chart in the ad.

Do a search on Rennlist, I have seen this car in the past over there.
The coil mounting location is interesting.... Also, I got an e-mail from the owner not too long ago, so I am sorry to hear about his passing. Bill |

I like the color on the outside, but it's a little overwhelming inside. Guess the inside doesn't matter much, all most people will ever see is the rear anyhow...

I thought I saw them in the engine compartmet?
Didn't specifically look, though.

Holcombe builds solid engines. Knows his stuff. What's the EFI system?
That quarter is slow for that hp. My car turned a 12.05 with less than that. |

I thought so too.
Perhaps he was preserving the clutch or was using the Kumho MX tires shown on an invoice, who knows.

Looks like the price has dropped a ton:
http://www.parkplaceltd.com/vehicle.aspx?s=blank&year=1991&make=Porsche&model911%20Turbo%20-%20739hp&inv=304&vin=WP0AA2964MS480221&pos=5¤t=1&size=50 I'd guesstimate you could get this for 45k -

AHHH! Somebody call the police! Somebody killed Barney and used him for an interior!
The color is not for me, but that is a nice car. I wish I made that kind of power. Screw the milage- my old C4/930 had 225k on it and still roached Z06's- can only imagine what 700+ would do...

Yep. And I suspect that is why it is unsold.

P.s- why is there a plato from 5900 rpm to 6300 rpm an then it picks up again at 6700?
That looks like some possible tire spin...

What is the plate on the case half? Looks like some sort of torque plate or adapter plate.
