As some of you know, I'm turbo'ing my 3.2 Carrera.
I was going to use OBX or GSF headers, but I'm now thinking I may spend a bit more and get some B&B 1 5/8" headers, to suit the Carrera heads better, since the OBX/GSF stuff has 1 1/2" primaries. Would those slightly larger primaries be of any benefit in turbo application? Better flow/spool, or would it be negligible? How much do the 1 5/8" B&B's typically go for?

OBX turbo headers are 1.61" primaries.... very close to 1 5/8".

hmmm, you're right... I like the option of heat though. I wonder if OBX sell them with heater boxes too? Anyone know?

Obx probley does not, but Goingsuperfast.com has a set of headers with heat boxes for between 1000 or 1200$ (cant remember). Also, I have seen people make a small shroud that collects air coming off the engine oil cooler and funnels it into the chassis pick-ups for heat. This would be a viable option as it would leave you free to choose what ever headers you want. I heard the heat dosent get as hot, but it does work. I am personally going to create a pipe that is about an inche larger in diameter to slide over the after turbo section of my exhaust and blow air over that into a pipe to get the heat for my car. I plan on buying Eddie B.'s twin manifolds from him eventually that dont have heat.
P.S I used an OBX manifold on my Galant VR-4 and one day an seemingly normal exhaust leak transformd into my turbo and down-pipe laying on the ground at a stop-light breaking the turbo brakets and everything.

The heat boxed goingsuperfast headers are on this page:
http://goingsuperfast.com/Porsche-911-Turbo.html They look to be quality pieces for about $1,200. Take a look and tell me what you think. I bought an intercooler from this guy when they first started and it was of great quality, I ended up swapping it for something much bigger though.
