Best Clutch Discs?
So which clutch is everybody using?
After only 9,000 miles mine is starting to slip, I put in a new cable this weekend thinking that the old one might have been binding, but it still slips under hard acceleration. I can't believe this clutch is failing already. This was the $400 Sachs Sport Spring centered clutch disk model #88186-615.

Hi David,
I am using a KEP stage 1 with a stock disk. I really like it. No slippie and it feels stock except it is a little harder to push down.

With a little research I can only find a few options for pressure plates
Centerforce/ kit Kennedy (KEP 930), plus Sachs disc Sachs aluminum (my current setup) They all run about $1000 Anybody have any more options or opinions on the pressure plate choices?

I think that's about it. I've got a Centerforce now, but I don't have enough miles to give feedback. I'll be trying the Kennedy next.

Send your own pressure plate out to to be rebuilt. I had mine rebuilt with heavier tension and use the stock spring centered clutch plate. I can hold mine at 7k and drop the clutch with no slip at all, just two black lines down the road. It does feel a little harder tp push the pedal in but my wife can drive it fine, and she's 5ft and 55kg.

Just got the car on jacks this evening and the oil is running out... with any luck the engine and trans will be out by the weekend. Got some advice to send the pressure plate to SPEC for modification.

Clutch Masters chrarged me $580 to rebuild my stock pressure plate and friction disk for serious abuse. They tweak the fulcrum point of the belvil spring on the pressure plate and then I got a 4 puck, ceramic, and sprung friction disk. This setup works great, clutch is a little mean in a traffic jam, but not bad and I beat the ba!!$ off it.

Stay away from the SPEC Stg3+... it's not very street friendly at all

Got the engine and trans out yesterday. Clutch disc doesn't look really badly worn but it has what looks like tiny heat cracks in it. The pressure plate and flywheel both have yellow and bluish streaks where the metal has gotten really hot.

My flywheel had major cracks, it really wasn't a question. I wouldn't worry too much about yellow and blue since we know they get super hot. Are there any grooves or cracks?
I got my car back yesterday, I've put a little over 100 relatively hard miles on it and so far the Centerforce hasn't slipped.

The flywheel doesn't have cracks but has slight grooving, pressure plate looks ok, definately heat cracks in the clutch disc. I am sending it all to SPEC tomorrow. How does the Centerforce feel at the pedal?

Now I know you drag your car- in your opinion, do you think that the 4 puck ceramic will be good for this? let me know what you think.
