Compression Readings for 79 930
Are these compression readings normal
My readings were: 120 psi on all cylinders (cold) 105 psi on all cylinders (hot) My 1979 930 has "sc cams" in it. |
They look normal to me... a little while ago I did a cold test on my motor and it came up pretty consistent at around 110-115 psi per cylinder. My #1 cylinder was around 100-105, which got me worried a bit, but cold testing is unreliable anyway... I'll re-do it with the engine warm shortly just to verify the numbers.
Any reason why you're doing such tests? Having some performance issues? |
I do have boost problems. At around 2500 rpm. The car hesitates
on boost. The idle is rock solid. The ignition distributor is perfect wires etc. It's all new. Hoses everything. Fuses are new and fuel pumps are new! But I did notice after having my fuel distributor rebuilt. It started leaking! The person who rebuilt it didn't torque the two halves enough! I torqued it! But I wonder if that is the problem? Perhaps air is sucking in creating an air bubble? |
