1979 930 electrical question
Trying to learn how my 1979 930 works (or doesn't) compared to a '88 930 I recently sold. I have never owned this early a model so wonder what preceded later 1988 ECU/DME controls. I am having a stalling problem and trying to find the gremlin. Have changed Fuel pump relays. Also: Is it common for 1979 930s to have fuel pumps operating with key in ON position before activating starter? Any input sincerely appreciated.

On the back of the air/fuel metering assembly, there is a green connector which is most likely disconnected, this will make the pumps go on as soon as the key is in the on position. When it is connected, the fuel pumps are only live when the engine is cranking or running.
