diagnostic question

Should all the header pipes be the same temperature? I have been measuring them with a laser thermometer and 5 are 300+ while one is 140 something. Of course they change as you are reading them but still the difference is obvious. The motor is running smooth and strong. There are no other signs of trouble.

What gives?

I wonder if the air blowing from the cylinders can affect the readout ?

I have one of these guns too. I would offer to test mine but neither of my cars are running at present.

I disconnected the fuel injector and drove around for about 4-5 miles. I reconnected it and it runs great. Maybe a plug was getting fouled. That header pipe is still cooler than the others but not as much. The car runs great so I am not sure why one is cooler than the others.

The only thing that springs to mind is it is getting more fuel than the other cylinders.

Is your spark plug color the same on all cylinders?

I'm having a problem with my left side (1,2,3) burning much leaner than the right. I've tried adding more fuel to the left, but so far it hasn't fixed it . The fuel rails are in series with the left getting fuel first, so I don't think it's fuel starved. My tuner's thinking it may be cam timing, so I get to check that this weekend.

I'll check the spark color and the fuel injector. Thanks
