Turbo support bracket on or off

I am curious as to how many of you run without the turbo support bracket?

I don't want to slot mine (I am installing a K27), but instead will get a second one machined and will use that one instead.

I am about to do the K27 install as well. A recent search came up with a Porsche part number 930 123 921 05 that MAY be the proper bracket for the install. Can anyone with a PET confirm this?

I have also read that the bracket can be modified/cut/bent for correct alignment. Mark, if you get a second bracket to work with, let us know what you did to make everything fit.

I am also using a K27-7200.
The bracket was cut and re-welded to fit correctly.

I have heard from a reputable aftermarket tuner that the bracket is not necessary if you use a muffler clamp to hold the exhaust system in place. In my application it's just not that big a deal to keep it on so I did.

Shortly after I posted this message, I got a PM regarding that part number. It is in fact the 'right' bracket for this turbo, it's also $176 here on Pelican.

The bracket is a simple piece of metal, so I am going to get someone to make me one, it will be under $50 to get made.

I added a small bracket off the turbo flange:
