Forbidden Topics

All:

This has come up a few times in the last few weeks, so I will reiterate this for all users.

Publicly posting links to download sites, or offering to send bootlegged copies (i.e any pdf) of Porsche Workshop manuals is forbidden.

Such actions are in violation of Porsche copyright\trademark and causes problems for Pelican Parts.

Thank You

Is it OK to post scanned copies of schematics from our Porsche shop manuals?

What is proper etiquette for posting other web-sites for example a specific part company that P.P. does not sell ? I do not wish to offend Wayne or others but at the same time I would like to send information to other p-car owners who ask . In the past I usually p.m. them .

Thanks

Steven

Just curious, are all of these copyrighted?

I have clarification from Wayne regarding pages scanned from your personal copies of your workshop manuals.

Posted for everyone's benefit. Please use common sense.

Re: Posting guidelines

I think that would fall under the "common use" statute of the copyright law, which states that you may quote or copy a partial item for demonstration.

Seems okay to me. The links to bootlegged workshop manual sites hurts both Pelican and Porsche. Stuff that's available for free on Porsche's site is fine (like the PET PDF files).

Hi Wayne,

Because I have had a few posts linking to bootlegged workshop manual sites, I posted stickys reminding users of the rules.

I did get one question though, is it permitted to post scanned pages out of the workshop manuals to the forum?

Thanks
Mike

It is considered proper to relate that by PM.

Excerpts like you mention seem to be covered by Wayne's post on "common use".
