ruf wheel-tire sizes?

I am using a 17x9 rear wheel off my narrow body 911 on my new turbo widebody car, how big a tire can you get on a 17x9....255? or is that pushing it? Thanks for your help

I have a set of 2003 Boxster wheels on a 951 and the rear rims are 17x8.5 and they are 255 standard. I have a friend who has 275's on the same rims. I reckon the 275's look better than 255's, they fill out rim.

265's on a 9" rim are nice and tight. 275's might start to get a little overtyred IMO.
As you can see I am running 225's on a 8.5" up front, that is very tight

I have 235s on a 9" RUF wheel - I could easily go to a 255.

I have 17x9's with 255's and it looks like the perfect fit.
